Member Alert - Fraud awareness

There is currently a scam, purporting to be from your Credit Union, and advising that your account is on hold or blocked.  This scam is asking members to verify their account.

Here is an example of the type of message that is being sent to members.

We wish to advise our members that:

• Emails or SMS messages claiming that your account is locked or blocked are fake
• Messages that claim urgent action is required are generally fake
• Never click on links in messages. Always manually enter a web address into the address bar of your browser.

Tips for our members

Don’t respond to messages with personal information

Don’t click on links or follow directions from somebody on a call with verifying first

A Credit Union will never text/email/phone looking for personal information

If you are in any doubt about any message you receive in connection with your Credit Union account, contact us directly on 0719641727

Never use contact details from a text message.  Always look up the Credit Union phone number and call them.

Always double check before clicking links or attachments in random or unexpected emails or texts and NEVER give away security details like PINs or passwords to anyone.
